  just a little disclaimer: english isn't my first language (i'm from france) thus the poor writing skills.here is the situation: i'm not a jw.

  however, i'm in the process of becoming one.

  in fact, i'm studying with the jw's, and i'll proceed to become an unbaptized publisher as soon as i finish the first book.to make a long story short i was introduced to the truth when i was 18een.

  To the OP : Also look into Captives Of a Concept by Don Cameron.

  You touched on this briefly with 'new light' of Prov 4:18 and how it ties in to Math 24 :45-47 and the Faithful and Discreet slave. This was a rhetorical question posed by Jesus and was not meant to point to any one particular group. The WT don't have a leg to stand on once this is shown. I believe they did this for 'unity at all costs' and even though their reasons may of been honorable at one point long ago, they certainly no longer are.

  Oh and the 'well where will we go, you have saying of everlasting life' spoken by Peter. Well the answer to that is Jesus Christ himself, not the 'organization' that claims to be Jehovah's organization. Actually when you stand back and look at it there whole way about upholding themselves is childish, immature and reminds me of schoolboy behavior and bullying.

  i ask the question because, with the g.b now appearing before members on their social media, and reluctantly on royal commissions my opinion is :-.

  a) the g.b can no longer hide like wells's invisible man.

  the reaction to it was quite negative but i have to admit that the title of that thread was intriguing to me.

  Question : Did Raymond Franz really post here on the forum while still alive ? Would love to read some of his posts. I do recall reading something about how attached he was to their pet dog, was quite touching. Love the guy.

  Personal thoughts and evaluations upon the Jehovah's Witnesses Organization

  from my own personal feelings about the jws when i was involved and i was brought up in the is religious practice from birth, was one of feeling of being lied to, exploited and manipulated to a certain extent.

  reflectively though i could see some wholesome social behavior direction being propagated not surprising nevertheless since this faith is based from christianity at its core.. where and how the wts/jws got bit corrupted i believe is that this organization has always had a publishing house and its core operation and supporting finances were mostly from that endeavoring operation.

  this also included creating doctrines which were to support and enhance the proliferation of those published works.

  Just the word 'publisher' says it all. First time I heard it from the friend 'teaching' me I thought I was going to puke. That and 'pioneer', had heard of Pioneer chain saws, but to 'pioneer' ? What bollocks.

  As mentioned above I took the good with the bad and tried to make the best of it as I wanted to learn the Bible. Anyone ever have any dealings with Primerica ? Similarities are astounding :

  a new montra that was recently adopted by the wife and i is this:.

  dont give them more power than they deserve.. here's why i say that, and i point this to those of you still in the congregation, still trying to decide what you want to do.. recently, our family had a little family reunion gathering of sorts, and we were in the company of some extended family that were either df or da, to varying degrees.

  we made it very clear, to any and all in attendance, that we wanted to be respectful and kind, despite any previous perceptions about our "status".... and that our feelings on a lot of things had "softened", and "changed" over the last 2 years.. i am being purposefully slightly vague, but i think you get the point.

  Same here. We are giving them absolutely nothing and it freaks them out. It's so sad they have nothing better to do. And I don't remember who said it on this thread, but I agree that this intrusive behavior is not normal, it's creepy actually. We are just trying to live our lives and we are not coming back so buzz off! Great thread !Co-dependency at it's finest, look it up is a VERY unhealthy situation to be in. Personal boundaries MUST be enforced, a foreign concept to JW's that know all abouteveryone's lives in any given congregation.
